Steam On The Isle of Wight
24th - 28th April

The Isle of Wight is a great place to visit at any time of year, but late Spring with a half-price bar, a free drink each evening and a ride on the steam railway is too good an opportunity to miss, so join us to try this new hotel in Sandown.

We begin with a visit to Ryde, with it's quirky mix of a traditional seaside town with traditional Victorian architecture. It's also home to the oldest pier in the country. We will then take a leisurely trip on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. Experience the golden age of travel in a beautifully restored carriage. Discover an idyllic view of the island's unspoilt countryside and maybe spot a red squirrel or deer as you pass through ancient woodland. We then have time in East Cowes before arriving back at the hotel with plenty of time for a drink before dinner.

Our other day out includes a circular tour of the island, visiting Old Shanklin with it's picturesque thatched cottages, and Ventor, described by Charles Dickens as 'The prettiest place I ever saw in my life, both home and abroad.' We will finish with a stop in Godshill and visit the model village, a timeless place to escape the busy world outside. As Kevin McCloud of Grand Design's said, 'If you really want to indulge in a uniquely 50's experience replete with bathing huts, vintage buses and a slower pace of life, then there is only one destination for you.'

You will also have a free day to explore the Island or have a relaxing day enjoying the seafront location of the hotel.
